Poor John Fante

I'm a huge John Fante fan, and Ask the Dust is one of my all-time favorite novels. I was really excited to hear Robert Towne was making a movie of it....then I saw the preview. Colin Farrell reads the narration with way too much seriousness. I always pictured more of a Jason Schwartzman type as Arturo Bandini anyway. And I thought Salma Hayek would be okay, but does she always have to be so sexy? Camilla Lopez is not sexy! Well, she is but not in that Salma Hayek way. Towne was here in Minneapolis recently to discuss the movie with attendees. I should've gone, but I probably would've ruined everything with my tantrum.
